How MyCardRep Works

Everything you need to know about building and sharing your trading reputation.

The Basics

1️⃣

Create your profile

Sign up with Google or email and set up your public profile. Feel free to add your username, bio, what you collect, and links to your eBay, Reddit, Instagram, and other accounts. Your profile is your reputation card — share the link anywhere.

2️⃣

Log your deals

After an offline transaction, log the deal with the other party. Search for their MyCardRep username, fill in the details (what you traded, approximate value, date), and leave your review — all in one step. If they're not on MyCardRep yet, you can invite them by email.

3️⃣

Leave and receive reviews

After logging a deal, leave a 👍 or 👎 review. Positive reviews are one tap. Negative reviews require a written explanation so the community understands what happened. The other party can confirm the deal, leave their own review, and publicly respond to anything said about them.

4️⃣

Share your profile

Feel free to drop your MyCardRep link in Reddit threads, Instagram bios, Facebook Groups, or Discord servers. Anyone can view your public profile — no account required. The more deals you log and confirm, the stronger your reputation becomes.

How Your Reputation is Calculated

Your reputation score is based on confirmed reviews from unique trading partners. Here's exactly how it works:

  • Reviews post immediately — as soon as a deal is logged, the review is visible on the recipient's profile marked as "Unconfirmed."
  • Confirmation makes it count — a review only counts toward your reputation score once the deal is confirmed by the other party. Deals between registered users auto-confirm after 7 days if not responded to. Deals with users who haven't joined MyCardRep yet will not auto-confirm — they'll need to sign up and confirm the deal themselves.
  • One review per unique partner — only the most recent review between any two people counts toward the score. This means a negative review can supersede a prior positive. You can't farm your reputation by doing 50 deals with the same person.
  • Declining doesn't hide reviews — if someone declines a deal, the review stays visible but doesn't auto-confirm. This prevents scammers from hiding negative feedback.
  • Positive rate matters — your positive rate is calculated from scored reviews only. You need to maintain a 95%+ positive rate to qualify for tiers.

Reputation Tiers

Tiers reflect the number of unique trading partners who have left you a confirmed positive review — not just total deals. Doing 50 deals with the same person counts as 1. You must also maintain a 95% or higher positive rate to qualify for any tier. Tiers are a measure of activity, not an endorsement or guarantee of trustworthiness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is MyCardRep free to use?

Yes — creating a profile, logging deals, leaving reviews, and sharing your profile link are all completely free.

Do both parties need a MyCardRep account to log a deal?

No. You can log a deal with someone who isn't on MyCardRep yet by entering their email address. They'll receive an invite to join, and the deal will be waiting for them when they sign up. The review will be visible on your profile immediately but won't count toward scores until confirmed.

Can someone leave a fake negative review about me?

Our system has several protections against this. Negative reviews require a written explanation, which creates accountability. Reviews only count toward your score once the deal is confirmed by both parties or auto-confirmed after 7 days for deals between registered users. Unconfirmed reviews are clearly labeled. You can publicly respond to any review, and you can report suspicious reviews to us. No system is completely fraud-proof, but these measures make fake reviews significantly harder to execute and less damaging.

What happens if someone declines my deal confirmation?

The review you left remains visible on their profile marked as 'Unconfirmed' — declining a deal does not hide the review. However, declined deals do not auto-confirm after 7 days, so the review won't count toward their score unless they confirm it themselves.

Can I delete a review I left?

Reviews are intended to be a permanent part of the community trust record and cannot be deleted once submitted. Please make sure your review is accurate before submitting.

What does 'Vouched By' mean on a profile?

'Vouched By' shows the number of unique trading partners who have left a confirmed positive review. This is different from total deals — it specifically measures how many distinct people have vouched for you, making it much harder to game.

Why does my tier require a 95% positive rate?

Tiers reflect trading activity across unique partners. The 95% threshold helps ensure that tiers represent a consistent track record — not just volume. It is not a guarantee of trustworthiness, but a measure of how many distinct trading partners have left positive confirmed reviews.

Can I link my eBay or Reddit account?

Yes — you can add links to your eBay, Reddit, Instagram, PayPal, Facebook, and other accounts on your profile. These are display-only links to help establish credibility, especially for new users who are building their MyCardRep history.

Is MyCardRep only for sports cards?

MyCardRep is built for the trading card community broadly — sports cards, Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and any other collectible cards. You can tag your profile with what you collect so other traders know your niche.

Does MyCardRep guarantee my trades?

No. MyCardRep is an information platform only. We provide reputation data to help you make more informed decisions, but we do not guarantee, insure, or take responsibility for any transaction. We strongly recommend using a payment method that includes a buyer and seller dispute mechanism for all offline transactions.

How do I share my profile?

Your public profile is at mycardrep.com/u/yourusername. You can copy this link and drop it anywhere — Reddit posts, Instagram bio, Facebook Groups, Discord servers, or iMessage. You can also download a shareable badge image from your profile to post on social media.

What is Card Board?

Card Board is a bulletin board where MyCardRep users can post cards they want to sell or trade offline. Buyers browse listings and contact sellers directly to arrange a deal — no transactions happen on MyCardRep itself. Founding Members get 5 free listings. Card Board is currently available to Founding Members only.

What is the Founding Member badge?

The Founding Member badge (⭐) is a permanent purple badge awarded to everyone who creates a MyCardRep account before July 16, 2026. Founding Members also receive 5 free Card Board listings as a thank you for joining early. This badge marks you as an early supporter and community builder — it can never be earned after that date.
