About MyCardRep
MyCardRep was built by a card collector tired of paying eBay fees, but who was also wary about who to trust when buying and selling offline.
"X can vouch for me" only goes so far when you don't know X. There was no good way to verify someone's track record before agreeing to a deal — so I set out to build one with MyCardRep.
MyCardRep is a self-reported deal history platform for the trading card community. It's not a guarantee against scams, and it's not a replacement for doing your own due diligence — but it gives collectors a way to build a logged record of their offline transactions, and gives buyers and sellers a place to look before they trust a stranger.
Since launch it's grown into a toolkit for collectors. Your reputation profile keeps a confirmed history of the deals you've logged. You can log a deal with anyone — even someone who isn't on MyCardRep yet — and send them a link to confirm it. And with Find a collector, you can search a MyCardRep username or an off-platform handle (Reddit, Instagram, and more) to see someone's reputation and any reports about them before you agree to a deal. Alongside that are a Card Board for posting cards to sell or trade, a Showcase for the cards you're proud of, a Portfolio for rating and ranking your own collection, and an Inventory Tracker with cost basis and profit & loss for collectors who want to run their collection like a business.
How reports work
Reports about off-platform handles are held to a standard so they mean something and stay fair. Only established accounts can file them, a negative report requires photo proof, and every report is shown as an unverified, first-hand account from the person who logged it — never as a claim by MyCardRep. Anyone named can verify that a handle is theirs and respond publicly, and any report can be flagged for review. The aim is to surface real patterns while giving people a fair chance to answer.
